Epoxy Primer
Epoxy primer is the best primer for bare metal because it adheres like epoxy cement. This hard, tough coating makes a great base for everything else you will be applying over it, and it will stop rust from forming underneath. An added bonus is that it does not have to be over-coated right away, and gives you some time to get the rest of the job ready to go. I liked that I could sand to bare metal and then prime with the epoxy in sections. It often takes a long time to sand, and it cannot be done in a day. Also, Speedokote offers a white version, and that fit in well with my base coat color. There is no way for me to say anything about the longevity of the product. This is a 4:1 which means you use more primer to activator for the money. I had no spray issues with the product and recommend its ease of application.
